Jugnu began as an all male bhangra group but since 2006 have become more inclusive - proudly promoting activites for women and girls. Jugnu's senior dancers now perform as a mixed group and this is actively supported by parents. Jugnu Bhangra now has approximately 40% female members amd 60% male members. Some come to learn Bhangra, others purely to keep fit. Whilst most Jugnu members are Sikhs, the group actively welcomes members from all communities and faiths.

Jugnu's female dancers sometimes perform at women only events such as:

- Charity Shows;
- Festivals;
- Sangeet and Mehndi Parties;
- Workshops
